Wisconsin diocese investigates alleged Marian apparition

Personally, I pray that this is authentic and gets total approval from the new bishop. Maybe if we have a totally approved site here is the USA, those who are feeding money to propagators of false apparitions will see a huge dwindling of funds. I have a feeling that this will be found to be authentic.

In 1859, Adele Brise, a 28-year-old Belgian immigrant in Wisconsin, reported that the Blessed Virgin had appeared to her and asked her to catechize children. In 1861, a chapel was built on the site, and in 1867, Sister Adele founded a school to educate children in the faith. The site, now known as the Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help, is approved by the Diocese of Green Bay.

Bishop David Ricken is now conducting an official investigation into the authenticity of the alleged apparitions. “If it were approved this would be the only approved apparition site of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the United States,” said Father John Doerfler, the diocese’s vicar general.
