St. Philip Neri said.....

In this forum you can write about your relationship with the Lord, your spiritual life, devotions you may take part in, works of Mercy you have done, what apostolates you are part of, ask for prayer, talk about the heavenly family (The Saints, Holy Mother, The Lord), talk about the triumphs in your life, and the misfortunes in your life.

Thank you thank you thank you! I do this, but never thought it was really enough.

My prayers are almost always as distracted as the rest of my life. I needed to read this.

JB, me too. I guess 3/6 births are more alike than we thought.  If you watch The Agony and the Ecstasy, Michelangelo, who shares our 3/6 did a lot of talking to God while he worked. :)

"When a scrupulous person has once made up his mind that he has not consented to a temptation, he must not reason the matter over again to see whether he has really consented or not, for the same temptations often return by making this sort of reflections."

"If those who are molested by scruples wish to know whether they have consented to a suggestion or not, especially in thoughts, they should see whether, during the temptation, they have always had a lively love to the virtue opposed to the vice in respect of which they were tempted, and hatred to that same vice, and this is mostly a good proof that they have not consented."

St. Philip Neri: A Holy Example of
What to Do When Plans Fall Through

Everyone struggles to figure out what to do with their life…even saints! St. Philip Neri, a former hermit, had plans to become a Jesuit missionary in India, but upon arriving in Rome, the Holy See denied his request. Lost and distraught, St. Philip Neri humbled himself before God, and prayed: “Lord, I want to serve you, but I cannot find [the] path. Show me the path!â€￾

His answer comes to life in a two-part cinematic event, “St. Philip Neriâ€￾ begins at 8 p.m. ET, Sat., May 19, and concludes a week later at 8 p.m. ET, Saturday, May 26 on EWTN, www.ewtn.com/channelfinder.
