Remembering Fr. O'Brien

Post by Denise » Sun Aug 30, 2020 8:26 am

Yesterday was ringing a bell and this morning I just realized what it was. Our precious Fr. O passed away. I rushed to the rectory just in time to see them come out of the door and put him in the hearse. The many visits with him the previous 6 months were so special. A group of us met under his living room window daily to pray the Divine Mercy chaplet and the Rosary. Many of those nights three of us would sneak in to see him just as we did the night before he passed. He just loved Aniya and would look at her and say, "She is such a beautiful child." He gave her the New Testament in Latin he'd gotten in Rome as well as his Irish whistle. There are tons of stories to tell concerning those visits. I miss him
About Fr. O'Brien
Devotion to the souls in Purgatory contains in itself all the works of mercy, which supernaturalized by a spirit of faith, should merit us Heaven. de Sales
