Prayers Please

Post by Johnna » Sun Jan 14, 2024 2:45 pm

My Son James and daughter-in-law Savannah lost their second child in a missed miscarriage. In case anyone doesn't know what that is, this is a miscarriage where the baby just stops growing and developing, but the body continues to act pregnant. She went for a routine visit and no heartbeat. No movement on ultrasound, no growth for the past two weeks. That was on December 26th.

Her womb finally delivered last night and we have the baby to take to a Catholic cemetery.
The whole process wasn't neat and easy. We ended up in the ER because of excessive bleeding. But they got her well taken care of, and we were able to keep the baby at home before we needed to go.
She is home now and is expected to heal naturally on her own from here out.

I am sharing these pictures as testimony of a tiny human life that was well loved.

Can't view photos. Wants me to sign in to google and I don't use that.

Sorry to hear about the little one. It makes my heart sad for all involved. How far along was Savannah? Is the baby a boy or a girl? Have you called a priest or taken the baby to the church to have he/she blessed and prayed over?

Love ya JB. Praying

The appointment when there was last a healthy heartbeat and all was 8 weeks.
The appointment where there was no heartbeat or anything she should have been 11 weeks along. At that point, the baby measured the size of nine weeks development.

Sorry about the links. I couldn't get into my cube upload. But I resolved that. You should be able to see pics from these links.

We don't know gender but the parents somehow suspect maybe girl.
The names they had chosen were Francis (Frank) Alexander or Alice Elizabeth

Alice was finally put into the ground today. The container you saw in the previous pictures was put into a specially made cylinder before burying. She is in an area with 12 others. Or there will be. She is number 11.
The stone doesn't have her name on it yet. It'll be a couple of weeks before that happens and I will have a better picture of it then. There were some crocus trying to push through in front of my house. It just seemed super symbolic. I took a bud and left it on the grave after the dirt was closed over.

(To be clear, we never medically confirmed gender. It was just too early on in the pregnancy. Her parents had names for both genders chosen, and in the end they settled on "she" and calling her Alice in order to avoid having to say "it", or "the baby".
We wanted to treat her like a human being as much as we could.)

Father Todd came out and prayed with us and blessed the grave. She is resting in peace now.
