Making Sense of the Trinity

Post by Denise » Thu May 15, 2008 9:02 am

Jehovah Witnesses attack it and The Da Vinci Code sought to undermine the Doctrine of the Trinity. But what exactly does The Trinity mean? Do we call it a “mystery” just to hide the fact, as some allege, that it makes no sense? Check out Dr. Marcellino D’Ambrosio’s article, The Mystery of the Trinity to find out how the present-day critics of the Trinity are just recycling old, worn-out heresies and get some new insights into this truly majestic doctrine.

Don't just take Marcellino's word on it, read what St. Athanasius said about the Trinity in the 4th century – he suffered exile 6 times rather than compromise on it. The Holy Trinity: Three Persons, One Creative, Energizing Reality.
Devotion to the souls in Purgatory contains in itself all the works of mercy, which supernaturalized by a spirit of faith, should merit us Heaven. de Sales

In this Trinity there is no intrusion of any alien element or of anything from outside, nor is the Trinity a blend of creative and created being. It is a wholly creative and energizing reality, self-consistent and undivided in its active power
Uh, St. Athanasius sums things up nicely.. you never know what people will come up with to obscure a potent reality. :)
