NEVER let a pumpkin go to waste lol

My snowman and ornament. I made 3 of the ornaments for my steps. To get a pumpkin to last through November and December and even into January you have to fill the tub with bleach water and let the pumpkins soak and roll for about 30 minutes. Pumpkins rot due to bacteria and the bleach kills that. Painting them and putting a clear coat on the helps too. That hat belonged to Henry.

If I had to charge people for anything I make, I would quite making things. I'd rather give things away. In the 60s and 70s my mom made crochet ponchos. She would give one to those who admired them. Then people started offering money for her to make them and she totally lost interest. It wasn't fun anymore and she just quit making them. I am a chip off the old block in that respect.

with her it was beanies and shawls
all an admirer had to do was complement it
and she would make them it

most of the people she didnt even know

her badly arthritic fingers dont allow that anymore
but it gave me an idea to make her something
for winter
we are in summer in oz ....argh the heat is stifling

I never knew that trick about rolling them in bleach water to make them last. And yeah, those are gorgeous.

Thanks but one of my white pumpkins needs a touch up. It rained so hard that it pealed about an inch of some of the paint. Easy fix though. Of course something could have blown into it and caused the problem. Glad it will be a quick fix.
