That has always been the issue. What the mainstream media failed to realise was that proposed so called "reforms" by Bergoglio were not permitted. Thank God Bergoglio didnt touch the "Our Father" prayer as he wanted to change the very words our Lord gave us on how to pray.German Cardinal Stokes Tensions Ahead of Conclave: Warns Against Electing a “Heretical Pope”
In a series of interviews ahead of the upcoming papal conclave, German Cardinal Gerhard Ludwig Müller, a prominent voice among Catholic conservatives, sharply criticized the legacy of Pope Francis and called for a clear return to traditional Church teachings.
Speaking to La Repubblica and The Times, Müller declared that “a chapter in the history of the Church has ended” with Francis’ death.
He warned that the next pope must uphold orthodoxy rather than drift toward media-driven liberalism, as reported by 20minutos.
A Divisive Voice Before the Vote
Müller, formerly head of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, expressed concern that the Church might elect “a heretical pope,” arguing that “the issue is not conservatism versus liberalism, but orthodoxy versus heresy.”
I think if we go back to the beginning of this papacy, there was a story posted here that his own Argentinian superiors saw him as seeking popularity. Sadly he compromised the faith but did it at his own peril. Faithful Catholics stuck with their faith and continued to pray, trusting in God's mercy that the only reason Bergoglio was permitted to continue these years as pope was because God had a greater plan. We see it throughout the Bible. God always stated "my ways are not your ways"........Why were Joseph's brothers so jealous that they would sell their father's fave son to strangers..........Joseph answered later when he rose from the squabble of prison to become the second highest ranking authority in Egypt after pharaoh. Joseph answers his brothers with "...you all planned it for some evil, but God has planned it for a greater good.....
Joseph had to be in Egypt at that time in that place, to interpret pharaoh's dream and to thereby save several nations from famine, and his own family who sought food when their own land suffered lack of it.
Bergoglio's papacy had to teach him humility and not to seek things of this world such as the adoration of the world, but to be the "servant of the servants".....the title given to the pope. It took years and the final health scare for him to realise his frailty and declare (see earlier post) that he himself should be in prison, not the inmates he visited.
we entrust his soul to a merciful God....confident that it is in the best of hands.
