Gaudete or “rejoice” Sunday.

Post by Denise » Thu Dec 11, 2014 8:20 am

This Sunday, the third Sunday advent, is Gaudete or “rejoice” Sunday. Rose instead of purple means a break from penance to smile with joyful anticipation. So what is that stark voice in the wilderness, John the Baptist, doing right in the midst of the gospel? What’s the connection between the stern Baptist and spiritual joy?
