A letter from the Secretariat of State
Medjugorje (1981-2006). "Constat de non supernaturalitate", has been sent with respectful compliments to the Holy Father Benedict XVI. In reply, the Secretariat of State sent the following consoling letter, on June 24, 2006 (date of the 25th anniversary of the supposed apparitions)
Dear Sir,
In homage to the Holy Father, you have had the delicate thoughtfulness to offer an example of your latest work on religious phenomena which are not recognized, to set out the position of the Church.
I am instructed to transmit to you the Pope’s thanks for this mark of thoughtfulness towards him, which he has recognized. May this compilation, which has been appreciated, encourage the faithful to exercise, with keenness, their discernment in fidelity to the Magisterium of the Church.
While entrusting you to the intercession of the Virgin Mary, the Pope readily grants to you the Apostolic Blessing.
Please accept, dear Sir, the expression of my devoted feelings,
