I am not a fan of the current pope. But if he is not the pope, who is? No matter your opinion of the man, he is pope.

They are arguing Sede Vacante
No one can remove the Pope because he is the Highest See, but a pope can remove himself by preaching heresy.
These are the claims, that by his actions he effectively has relinquished the position entrusted to him.

At the beginning of the Bergoglio pontificate, when controversy arose, the Cardinals, theologians, clergy all met in Paris to discuss this, and realised he was poor of health anyway and not expected to last long - what is commonly referred to as "caretaker pope" so actions were delayed, but many are speaking out now.

But God is in control. In His time...

Bergoglio shouldn't just excommunicate anyone wanting to argue Sede Vacante.
I mean how does that look? They get to have their say if there's a valid concern.

- if the situation of sede vacante exists (and the chief canon lawyers, theologians, cardinals thought it did - enough to hold a gathering about) then the excommunication of any priests by bergoglio for stating the obvious, is invalid. The next pope will decree it (unless he is of the same mindset.....recall the record number of cardinals created by bergoglio to push the "vote" in his favour )

It is the same with Trump and the Democrats. Every time he called them out for something they filed charges against him for one thing or another, and wanted to put him in prison, yadda yadda yadda.

I don't want to fall into the same heresy as the people who think we haven't had a valid pope since Pious XII. But it is very tempting for me to think maybe we haven't had one since Benedict XVI.
Heaven help me :?
